These terms and conditions govern the use of www.functionalgutcentre.com.au. This website is is owned and operated by Madeleine Lawrence. By using or accessing this website, you indicate you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.

 

Scope of Services

The services provided by The Functional Gut Centre are intended solely for the purpose of assisting clients in managing symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional gut disorders. These services may include but are not limited to the application of cognitive behavioural, hypnotherapy and nutrition advice. These services are delivered to help modulate gut function and alleviate symptoms but do not constitute medical treatment or diagnosis.

 

Client Eligibility 

Clients seeking services from The Functional Gut Centre must be adults aged 18 years or older and must provide accurate and truthful information regarding their medical history, current symptoms and any pre-existing conditions. Clients must truthfully confirm that they have sought medical advice from their general practitioner and/or gastroenterologist prior to seeking support from The Functional Gut Centre and have received medical clearance by their medical practitioner to participate in services provided by the The Functional Gut Centre, including cognitive behavioural therapy, gut-directed hypnotherapy and nutrition advice. Clients with a history of severe mental health disorders, psychosis or other contraindications to hypnotherapy may not be eligible for services and The Functional Gut Centre reserves the right to refuse treatment at any time.

 

Assessment and Consent

Prior to commencing sessions at The Functional Gut Centre, clients are required to undergo an initial assessment conducted by a qualified hypnotherapist to evaluate their suitability for treatment. Clients must provide informed consent for participation in hypnotherapy sessions, acknowledging the nature of their services and potential benefits, risks and limitations. A client's failure to properly inform The Centre of their relevant medical history may result in termination of sessions and the client may not receive financial reimbursement.

 

Confidentiality 

The Functional Gut Centre maintains strict confidentiality regarding all client information disclosed during sessions in accordance with applicable privacy laws in the state of Queensland, Australia. Client confidentiality is upheld unless legally required to disclose information or when there is a risk of harm to the client or others. 

 

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Clients are responsible for payment of fees associated with any services provided by The Functional Gut Centre, as outlined in the agreed-upon fee schedule. Payment is due prior to or at the time of each session, unless alternative arrangements have been made. Cancellations or rescheduling requests require two business days notice. Fees may apply for cancellations made within two business days prior to your appointment. 

 

Professional Boundaries

The Functional Gut Centre adheres to strict professional boundaries during al sessions, maintaining a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect, trust and confidentiality. Any inappropriate behaviour or breach of professional boundaries by clients will result in termination of services and the client may not receive financial reimbursement.

 

Limitation of Liability 

While every effort is made to ensure the effectiveness and safety of services provided by The Functional Gut Centre, The Functional Gut Centre shall not be liable for any adverse effects or outcomes resulting from the client’s participation in sessions, including cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy or nutrition advice. Clients acknowledge that individual responses to cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy and nutrition advice may vary and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. 

 

The Functional Gut Centre employees, directors and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities or expenses including legal fees that may arise out of use of the services of The Functional Gut Centre, this website or violation of the terms and conditions.

 

Intellectual Property

All content published on this website (other than the logos, masthead, title or names of other business/publications) are the property of The Functional Gut Centre. Use of any content from this website must be authorised by The Functional Gut Centre’s owners and operators with their written permission. This includes images, text, logo and any additional files and content.

Changes

These terms and conditions may be changed without notice to maintain compliance with the relevant laws and updated operating patterns of The Functional Gut Centre. We reserve the right to update or revise these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We encourage you to review these Terms and Conditions periodically for updates. Any terms and conditions not amended at such time shall still be considered valid.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from the provision of services provided by The Functional Gut Centre shall be resolved through negotiation and, if necessary, through the appropriate legal channels in Queensland. By engaging in services provided by The Functional Gut Centre, clients acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions and agree to abide by the guidelines outlined herein.
